- Perform[cb]
Table of Contents
Women have played an important role at Perform[cb] since it was founded in 2002, with powerful women making up over half our team. As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, our fifth spotlight goes to Audrey Eng, Vice President of Account Management. Read on to learn more about her team spirit, female role models, and advice she has for women entering this industry.
Q: Which female historical figure has been an inspiration to you?
A recent inspiration to me has been Serena Williams. She had her first child around the same time that I had mine. She competed at the highest level while she was pregnant. A year after giving birth to her child, she was back on the court defending her title as the #1 tennis player in the world. She didn’t sacrifice her career for motherhood. And she didn’t sacrifice motherhood for her career.
Q: If you have a female figure of inspiration within Perform[cb], please provide some details around who they are and how they inspire or drive you?
I’m inspired by all of the working parents at Perform[cb]. Parenthood and working full-time can be a lot to balance. I’ve had wonderful mentors to look up to over the years and I’m thankful for the examples they have set. It’s inspiring to see our CEO, Erin Cigich, normalize the aspects of being a working parent, especially during the pandemic. I’ve seen her run a company all-hands meeting, while also taking care of her two kids at home. It encourages me to know that it’s possible to do both and excel at each.
Q: As a working mother, how does the company support your work-life balance?
Perform[cb] understands the importance of work-life balance, and I am so grateful for that. As a mom to two young children, and with another one on the way, I find myself trying to juggle many things. Perform[cb] not only allows for work-life balance, but they truly encourage and embrace it. Whether it be early-out Fridays, maternity leave, or company events – they want the best for their employees both personally and professionally.
Q: If you could give your teenage or childhood self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Be mindful. Live in the moment. Don’t spend time worrying about yesterday, and don’t spend too much time planning for tomorrow.
Q: How has Perform[cb] helped nurture your career development?
When I think about my time with the company over the last six years, I can’t help but think of the opportunities and challenges that have been afforded to me. I started at the company as a Senior Account Manager, eagerly wanting to learn about the business and the industry. The company allowed me to tackle new challenges and experiences that have helped me grow as an individual. I was then given the opportunity to manage a team and help my reports grow as individuals as well. This has been the most fulfilling part of my career so far!
Q: What do you enjoy most about Perform[cb]’s company culture?
No matter the task, there is a team of people there to support you. Perform[cb]‘s company culture has a true sense of camaraderie. While we each have our separate day-to-day tasks, we are all working toward the same goal.
That’s not to say that it’s all work and no play. Even during the pandemic, the company has been able to maintain a sense of camaraderie amongst the team. One of my favorite events in the last few months was our company Family Feud game. We took time out of the day to unwind and have a few laughs. I’m lucky to have teammates that work hard and know how to have fun.
Q: What would be your advice to other women entering this industry?
Don’t be afraid to create your own path. Our industry is constantly evolving and those who can think outside of the box could have the greatest impact.
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
Before moving from NYC to San Francisco, I checked something off of my bucket list – Seeing the ball drop at midnight on new year’s eve in Times Square. We waited patiently for over 12 hours in the freezing cold, but it was well worth it!
