Table of Contents
As we near the end of Women’s History Month, our 6th and final female employee spotlight goes to McClain Sherman, Senior Partner Executive. McClain is going on her 6th year with Perform[cb]. Read on to learn more about McClain’s female role models and the advice she has for women entering this industry.
Q: If you have a role model or female figure of inspiration, please provide some details around who they are and how they inspire or drive you?
Cheesy, but my mom. She built a business on her own all while raising three kids and always had a smile on her face. A true role model of what it means to lean in.
Q: Who has been the most influential person within the organization for you?
Jen Lewis has always been a role model to me. If I have any problem or question, chances are she’s dealt with it before!
Q: Which female historical figure has been an inspiration to you?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is such an inspiration! She broke down so many barriers so that women can live the lives we do today. Her example is one of such strength and resilience up to her very last days. She was the original smasher of glass ceilings.
Q: If you could give your teenage or childhood self a piece of advice, what would it be?
You’re stronger than you give yourself credit for! Believe in yourself and cut yourself some slack every now and then.
Q: As a working mother, how does the company support your work-life balance?
I’m currently expecting and excited knowing that my company supports me 100%.
Q: How has Perform[cb] helped nurture your career development?
I’ve always been a driven woman, but Perform[cb] has really nurtured that in me. I feel confident speaking up and that my voice will be heard within the company. I love my position as a pub rep because I deal with a lot of strong personalities on a daily basis and am able to strategize with my clients and guide them on the latest market trends.
Q: What do you enjoy most about Perform[cb]’s company culture?
I love how interactive it is. All of the cultural events are so nice to connect with your employees outside of an office setting. I’ve truly made some lifelong friendships at the organization and that’s a testament to the company culture.
Q: What would be your advice to other women entering this industry?
My advice to any woman entering the workforce is if you don’t ask, the answer is always no. Make yourself heard and keep trying! You won’t get noticed if you never raise your hand.
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I used to manage a music blog in Denver, CO and go to concerts every night of the week. Can’t wait to get back to live events!
